Models of Service Delivery & Transitional Planning


Effective planning for students with ABI requires flexibility of programming to meet highly individual learning needs. Various models of service delivery from a continuum of least restrictive to more intensive support will be discussed in this course.
The delivery of special education services in the province of Ontario (CANADA) is changing. A brief overview will be given of how these changes will affect students with ABI and some of the challenges that this will pose for educators. The discharge plans, transitional “model plan”, the IPRC (Individual Placement and Review Committee) process and the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) and their role in transfers from one academic environment to another and into society will be treated. Ongoing support methods and resources are presented.
